There are many khandros, but this Khandro really had the most extraordinary qualities. Usually someone who is very beautiful, very young and also the consort of a very high lama, might have a lot of pride. But Khandro-la didn’t have any kind of pride whatsoever. She was very humble towards everybody.

Another very important quality is that she really never had any attachment to wealth and possessions. She didn’t demand “Oh, I really need this treasure, this jade, this gold.” She kept her life very simple. These are her great qualities.

Without Khandro-la, Jamyang Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö’s life would have been much shorter. If his life had been shorter then not so many high lamas would have received these extraordinary teachings, in particular the Damngak Dzö.
